If you've ever wanted to cover a large area of your canvas with French Knots but had difficulty, this is a great stitch to learn.
In this variation, we will combine diagonal rows of Tent Stitch with French Knots.
Take a look at the stitch diagram. Wherever you see a circle, you will place a French Knot. Wherever you see a Tent Stitch, place a Tent Stitch. You will see that Tent Stitches line up with Tent Stitches on the diagonal and vice versa.
Because we have interspersed Tent Stitches with the knots, it allows each individual French Knot to be seen. It is also easier than filling each hole on the canvas with a knot.
The above example was done in Silk and Ivory.
