Diagonal Scotch Stitch is a cousin to the regular Scotch Stitch, however it is worked on the diagonal in a continuous diagonal line.
It is made up of stitches that span over one canvas thread, over two, over three and then over two again. It looks like a continuous run of small squares when stitched into the canvas.
Try this stitch on areas of your canvas that you would like to have a lot of movement.
This is a great first decorative stitch to try out.
