The Moorish Stitch is a cousin to the Diagonal Scotch Stitch. It is a composite stitch, meaning that it is made up of two or more simpler stitches combined together into one more complex stitch.
Take a look at the diagram above. You will see that the stitch is made up of rows of Diagonal Scotch Stitch alternating with rows of Tent Stitch. These rows can be worked all in one thread- one of our favorites is Planet Earth Silk. Or it can be worked using one thread for the Tent Stitch and one thread for the Diagonal Scotch Stitch.
