Smyrna Cross Stitch

Smyrna Cross Stitches are perfect for a square area on the canvas that is two canvas threads by two canvas threads. 

They are made of a Cross Stitch 2 over 2 and an Upright Cross Stitch layered on top of each other. Because of this "layered" nature, they do stand up off the canvas slightly. 

Smyrna Cross Stitches can be worked in neat lines or individually, depending on how your canvas is painted. 

If you are using lots of these stitches on your canvas, ensure you are consistent with which arm falls on top of the Smyrna Cross.
