Star Octagon Stitch
This is a highly decorative stitch that should be saved for open areas of color.
It can be stitched all in one thread, or worked in a combination of two. We like using a sparkly thread and a matte thread as pictured in the example below.

The above stitch was stitched using Pepper Pot (for the diamond portion of the stitch) and Silk Lamé Braid (for the Smyrna Crosses).
